Scuffle: Six railway staff transferred

Scuffle: Six railway staff transferred

South Western Railways on Monday transferred six of its employees from Bangalore for indulging in a scuffle with Nimish Adani, a Business Development Manager in Logix Microsystems.

Addressing a press conference in Bangalore, Division Railways Manager Mahesh Kumar said though the preliminary findings indicate that Nimish Adani could have initiated the scuffle, a railway official was not expected to be part of any such incident even if provoked.

“In this case, we are giving the benefit of the doubt to the customer,” said Kumar.

Earlier, the two TCs and four RPF personnel were suspended by the railway administration on October 5, when Nimish lodged a complaint alleging that he was manhandled and assaulted by two TCs and four RPF staff on September 30.

Interestingly, this development comes in the wake of the withdrawal of the complaint by Nimish a week ago. Apparently, the action taken by Railway administration is the reason behind the withdrawal of complaint.

Expressing scepticism about Nimish’s move, Mr Mahesh Kumar said the enquiry findings and the evidence gathered could not substantiate any of the allegations made by Nimish. Even the platform ticket counter, that he claimed to have taken the ticket from, was out of order on that particular day.

“But in good faith, we are not going to make any further enquiry to establish any fault on the part of Nimish” he said.

With regard to V Srinivas, who was allegedly trying to cheat Nimish of his money, Mr Kumar stated that the investigations has revealed that Srinivas was just another passenger at the station. He had come to Bangalore to conduct his business of selling computer parts.
