BANGALORE: City BJP MLAs have strongly opposed the revision of the guidance value of land with effect from last Friday.

In a release, BJP general secretary R Ashok, Shivajinagar MLA Katta Subramanya Naidu, Chickpet MLA P C Mohan, and MLC Mukyamantri Chandru said that a steep increase in the guidance value of lands in Bangalore will have a direct impact on the middle class salaried families.

“With this kind of irrational revision, it would now become impossible to the salaried class to buy a piece of land and construct a house in Bangalore,” they regretted.

The BJP leaders were also critical of the government’s decision to give concessions to multi national companies (MNCs) by selling prime lands at a throwaway prices, while denying the honest tax payers of the access to own a house in Bangalore.

Demanding withdrawal of the revised guidance value, they threatened to protest, if the government failed to respond positively.
