Parking banned on 13 city roads

BANGALORE: In a bid to reduce traffic congestion and prevent road accidents, the police have banned parking of vehicles on 13 important roads in the central parts of the city. The order will be enforced on October 24.

According to a press release from the Commissioner of Police, Ajai Kumar Singh, the 13 roads are Rashtreeya Vidyalaya Road (from Lalbagh West Gate to Minerva Circle), Lalbagh Road (4th Cross, Lalbagh Road, to Lalbagh Main Gate), New Mission Road (Poornima cinema junction to Kannada Bhavan), Avenue Road (City Market Square to Hospital Road junction), B.V.K. Iyengar Road (Kempegowda junction to Doddapet Circle), Hospital Road (Balepet junction to Avenue Road junction), 1st Main Road, Gandhinagar (Kanakadasa junction to Sagar junction), 1st Cross, Gandhinagar (Giriyas to Tribhuvan cinema), 5th Main Road, Gandhinagar (Tribhuvan cinema to Janata Bazaar), Kempegowda Road (on 1st, 2nd and 3rd crosses), Sampige Road (Malleswaram Circle to 18th Cross junction).

And, Cunningham Road (Balekundry Circle to Chandrika Hotel junction) and Miller's Road (Chandrika Hotel junction to Cantonment railway under-bridge).
