No parking rule draws flak
No parking rule draws flak
Deccan Herald
The Malleswaram Commercial Association has criticised the move of the traffic police to ban parking on Sampige Road in Malleswaram, beginning October 24.
In a press release, Association President M N Prasad said, “the traffic police has ordered the no-parking rule without providing alternative arrangements. The volume of vehicles shifting from Sampige Road have no place for parking as the adjoining roads are already being used to the maximum.”
‘No consultations’
“The authorities, traffic police and BMP, have not consulted the local residents and businessmen before taking the decision. The association has suggestions to ease the traffic flow, without displacing the existing parking lots, but the authorities are showing little interest in the matter”, he added. He said that the rule should be withdrawn immediately and alternative arrangements be provided before enforcing the rule.
