Caught in a time warp
Caught in a time warp
Deccan Herald
Budigere Cross Road, a short stretch which links Old Madras Road to Devanahalli Road has its share of good-looking buildings.
Pedestrians making way for rickety, wood-laden tractors to pass is not an image that goes well with a thriving industrial area. But Budhigere Cross Road proves an exception. The road, which links Old Madras Road to Devanahalli Road in a near five km stretch, seems to be caught in a time warp.
The area has its share of swanky industrial units standing tall on both sides of the stretch.
The road that leads to them, however, fails to match up. Pothole-ridden and bumpy, the narrow stretch can just about allow a big car and a motorbike to pass at the same time, substantially cramping the bustling two-way traffic during peak hours. The motorists have found a way out β avoid the road, take whatever is left on the sides.
They are doing a decent job of that, but traffic jams are evidently not the concern here. Itβs the road, or what remains of it.
Budhigere Road, which is home to around 20 industrial units β big, medium and small β is also hit by the intermittent rain which has further battered the stretch.
