To,

The Assistant Commissioner of Police
Malleswaram,
Bangalore.

Respected Sir,

I would like to bring to your kind notice, that we are facing traffic problems in Malleswaram. Ever since the government has started construction of the grade seperator near the circle, we are facing severe traffic problems. Especially in 8th Cross Road, 13th Cross Road. In 8th Cross Road, although you do not have any parking of any vehicles, off late I have seen four wheelers, two wheelers, hawkers parking their vehicles on the road side & going about their business. Of this hawkers play a very big role. Since neither the TPA or the traffic constables have turned a blind eye all these people, we have got the footpath vendors. People are forced to walk on the roads, since the road is very small. 8th Cross being the centre point in malleswaram, & the grade seperator coming up near the circle, all sorts of vehicles are moving on this road, it is very dangerous to walk on the road, as the BMTC vehicles take a left turn & a right from north to south, what happens in front of the vehicle goes unnoticed. You need to find a permanent solution to the footpath vendors & the hawkers, as they are becoming a nuisance to the public. They get away paying mamools to the police. When we spoke to the local traffic constable he says, you do not have to bother, just mind your business & go ahead. This is the status of the police. They stand at the corners of the streets & keep watching. It is no doubt that people are also to blame, but if you enforce a stric law on this issue, I think sir, everything will be sorted out. I came to know that you are a very disciplined officer, I do hope you will enforce discipline, not only to your officers, but also on the roads. On the other hand the BMTC buses are not to speak about, they think that the road belongs to them. If you stand at the 13th Cross Road corner, you must see as to how they make a left turn, coming down on 13th Cross Road, towards sampige road & the worst situation is that they stop the vehicle on the centre of the road & it is very difficult for other vehicles to move about. The commuters stand at the centre of the road, in eager to board the approching bus. One wonders as to when an accident takes place at this junction. I would only request your kindselves to take immediate action on this issue & see that the system is regulated & enforced.

Thanking you Sir.

with regards

An affected citizen in the area
Malleswaram.
Bangalore.
