Infrastructure in City a sore thumb

Infrastructure in City a sore thumb

VIJAY TIMES NEWS

Bangalore: Call it foul timing or sheer bad luck, but experts fear that Bangalore IT .in 2005 might just backfire on the government with poor infrastructure being showcased, instead of technological capabilities.

Asia s premier IT event, opening on W ednesday , is set to begin in the background of severe flooding in several areas of the City .

Visiting foreign delegates would get a chance to see (at least through media pictures if not through visits) why the IT industry here had made such a hullabaloo over the poor infrastruture of the City , touted as the IT capital of the country .

Industry experts say foreign delegates looking for tie-ups with their Indian counterparts in Bangalore are bound to visit their campuses, many of which are located in the worst flood-hit areas of the City .

"They are bound to see the negative side of Bangalore, which is so glaring that one just can’t miss it," says an eminent IT personality actively involved in organising the event.

In fact, everybody is keeping their fingers crossed, praying that rains keep away at least till the event finishes.
