Bangalore: Seventeen months after formation of the coalition go vernment, the Congress and the JDS on Saturday shared a common platform to pledge their resolve to focus on infrastructure needs of all urban areas including Bangalore.

E vincing interest on a presentation offered to them on reforms in U rban go vernance structure b y an NGO , Chief Minister N Dharam Singh and JDS Chief H D Devego wda said that the exercise was aimed at dispelling doubts that was being created in the minds of people that the coalition go vernment was not interested in infrastructural improvements in the City .

Infosys chairman N R N arayanamurthy said the presentation made b y Ramesh Ramanathan and S wathi Ramanathan couple associated with the NGO was very focussed on ho w to impro ve go vernance sructure in urban areas not only of Bangalore but also of all to wns and cities .

Singh and Go wda said a team of officials would be deputed to Rajasthan, which has already initiated reforms on the basis of the report given by Ramanathan couple. Shortly one more meeting would be convened to discuss the outlines of the proposals for implementation in the State, he added.

Singh said he was happy about the presence of Go wda at this meeting, the deliberations of which he termed as fruitful and added the former Prime Minister had expressed concern for the development of infrastructure in the City and entire Karnataka.

Go wda said: If it is going to help solve infrastructure problems, we will welcome it .
