The Hindu

BANGALORE: Chief Minister N. Dharam Singh will be shortly convening a meeting of captains of industry and the organisations representing industry to discuss the complaints of lack of infrastructure or its deterioration in the city and the steps being taken by the Government to set the matters right.

In a statement responding to the threats being held out by the Bangalore Chamber of Industry to boycott the Bangalore IT.in to be held in November, Mr. Dharam Singh said that work on infrastructure development projects has been held up because of heavy rain. He appealed to the chamber and other organisations of industry to participate in the IT industry meet. He said work on the international airport has been taken up and that on some of the flyovers, the work will be taken up again. He said the work is being taken up on building a flyover to link the Electronic City with other parts of the city. Similarly, the Hitech City project is underway and the stalled work on the Airport Road flyover will be resumed soon.
