Bangalore: Chief minister N. Dharam Singh will convene a meeting of IT czars after September 20 to make a presentation on what his government plans to do for Bangalore’s infrastructure.

Reacting to the Bangalore Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s decision to boycott Bangalore IT.in 2005, Singh told The Times of India: “We are doing our best. Infrastructure also includes international airport, which has taken off.’’

Infrastructure minister P G R Sindhia said Maran’s complaint about infrastructure was justified. Bangalore’s traffic snarls are putting investors off. “I admit that the city’s growth and the amount invested in infrastructure are not proportionate. We are working out both long- and short-term proposals to correct this.’’

Sindhia didn’t see any political motive in Maran’s statement. “He has written to the PM asking for Rs 500 crore central investment in Bangalore’s infrastructure. But as a native of TN, he is trying to promote Chennai also.’’
