IT impact: 38 roads in B’lore to be upgraded

The State government has sought assistance from the Central government for upgrading roads at a cost of Rs 550 crore

Karnataka has sought Central assistance for upgradation of 38 roads in the IT corridor of Bangalore, coming under Public Works Department.

The proposed aid is also for an interchange facility on NH-7 connecting K Agrahara (Sarjapur Road area) with Bangalore International Airport at Devanahalli.

The State has asked the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to take up the BDA’s proposal to construct eight-lane expressway (90-km Peripheral Ring Road) around Bangalore City. Improvements on 38 roads in Bangalore, including Bannerghatta Road, Sarjapur Road, Airport Road, Bannerghatta-Anekal Road, Kengeri to Kanakapura Road via Uttarahalli will be taken up at a cost of Rs 550 crore, Minister for Public Works and Energy H D Revanna told reporters here.
