Bangalore: The much-talked-about Science City will come up on 100 acres carved from the land allocated to the proposed Film City in Hesarghatta, science and technology minister Basavaraj S Horatti said here on Friday.

Horatti told reporters: “The funding and sanctions for the project have all been cleared, but we were unable to locate land to house it. Now, after discussions with information minister B Shivaram, the land has been identified.’’

Horatti said the Rs 70 crore project would be taken up with 13 per cent investment from the Centre and the state, while the remaining 74 per cent would be raised through public donations. “We still have to decide if it will be administered by a trust or a special purpose vehicle. We have sent a team to Kolkata to study what they have done,’’ he added.
