Bangalore: The sky bridge inaugurated in Jayanagar 4th Block on Saturday, was to have an escalator but the idea was dropped due to the high costs involved.

Disclosing this to reporters, Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Ramalinga Reddy, who inaugurated the sky bridge, lauded Selvel Vantage Company for sponsoring the project and completing it within a short time.

K Jyothiramalingam, Commissioner, Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) said a police watchplace has been built as a safety measure to prevent petty crimes.
