City gets no respite from rain

City gets no respite from rain

Deccan Herald

Though it was not as hard hitting as it has been over the last week, sudden showers again hit the City on Thursday evening, taking strollers and homeward bound office-goers by surprise.

For Bangaloreans, who are still reeling and sighing under the damage that the rain clouds left in their trail on Tuesday, it was a happy relief that the impact was low. The Met Department recorded 3.3 mm rainfall in the City at 8:30 pm.

Shutters were down on M G Road as soon as the first droplets fell. Most of the shades in the front shops were crowded with pedestrians, who sought shelter in the rain. Bangalore traffic, that only needs a trickle to stop, was chock-a-block on major roads in the central parts of the City.

Car owners had a hard time, securing a place to park. The Met department has predicted rains for Friday too.
