And here's the other side of the Bangalore One story
Bangalore One: First day, no show
New Indian Express
BANGALORE: Chief Minister Dharam Singh on Saturday logged citizens onto Bangalore One - a one-stop shop for citizen services. But day one passed off with few users showing interest.
The 14 centres too were yet to fully gear up to provide services. UTI Bank was yet to set up ATMs and the centres were not yet prepared to take payments by cheque.
At the Shanthinagar centre housed in Divyashree chambers and another in Jayanagar zonal office of the Bangalore City Corporation, the staffers were waiting for the formal inauguration even after 5 pm, two hours behind schedule.
Bangalore One is an e-governance initiative by the State Government and operated by a consortium of CMS Computers and Ram Informatics in association with the National Institute of Smart Governance, Hyderabad.
‘‘We are not yet prepared to accept cheques and credit cards. After a few days, we will be able to handle them,’’ said a staff member at Jayanagar centre.
