Three vital infrastructure works of Bangalore City Corporation (BCC) are getting delayed even before the inception stage with the BCC suddenly deciding to change their structural designs.

The projects are the proposed flyovers at Yeshwantpur Circle and Minerva Circle and a grade separator in Malleswaram. With the consultants for the projects asked to submit revised designs and estimates, the award of works has been postponed.

Tenders for the projects were floated a few weeks ago before BCC decided on the change.

Maharashtra based Bobe Associates is the consultant for the Rs. 14 crore flyover at Yeshwantpur Circle, CES Consultants for the Rs. 14 crore Minerva Circle flyover and Construma Consultants for the Rs. 12.5 crore Malleswaram grade separator.

The revision in design will increase the project cost and the revised estimates are expected by the end of this week and then the works will be awarded in a month’s time, said BCC sources.

The works will be included in the forthcoming BCC budget.
