One-way enforced, chaos reigns
The Times of India

Bangalore: Barricades and new sign boards were put up. Motorists were caught off guard. Traffic piled up at junctions. There was chaos for several hours. It was the usual scene on the first day of enforcing any new one-way rule. This time, it was roads around Madivala police station.

Though traffic policemen, armed with placards, were in full force giving motorists directions, it took them several hours before traffic began to move in the direction of the new one-way.

DCP traffic (East) M.A. Saleem said, “Normally there is confusion when a one-way is introduced on any road. It did not take long for motorists to get used to the sign boards. Flow of traffic became normal within a few hours here.’’ As it was a weekend and moreover a second Saturday, the new one-way was introduced keeping in mind the flow of traffic, the traffic police said. The real test, however, will be on Monday when heavy traffic plies towards Electronic City.
