BDA notifies acquisition for Arkavathy layout

Deccan Herald

The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) has issued final notification to acquire 2,750 acres of land to form the Arkavathy Layout.

Land-owners whose land comes under the proposed layout will get compensation for giving up their land in one instalment, BDA announced in a press release issued here on Monday.

At the same time, BDA warned that some of the land- and site-owners in the layout have constructed buildings without authorisation on their in this area. BDA has already issued hand-bills declaring that all unauthorised construction made after February 3, 2003, will be demolished and no compensation whatsoever will be given for such structures.

The Bangalore Development Authority, which conducted a survey of buildings that existed before this date, has a record of all sites with and without construction, the Authority warned.

At the same time, pucca houses built prior to this notification shall not be demolished by the Authority and will be integrated in the layout.

Land-owners have been asked to contact Bangalore Development Authority officials directly to claim compensation, without going via mediators, the release stated.

They must also produce certain documents to get land compensation immediately. These include: sale deed or partition deed, ‘pahani’ for the current year, IHC document, copy of mutation, certificate and tax-paid receipt from village accountant, encumbrance certificate, proof that it is free from lease, family-tree certified by the village accountant, three photographs, photograph and specimen signature, indemnity bond, self affidavit, copy of order from Revenue Department that land has been resanctioned (if it is ‘naukari inamti’ land) and certificate from assistant divisional officer that land has not been alienated (if it was government land sanctioned to SC and ST candidates).
