BANGALORE, NOV. 3. The Pune experience of infrastructure such as roads being created along with the development of property for occupation by the information technology industry could benefit Bangalore.

Vascon Engineers Pvt. Ltd. of that city is participating in the Bangalore IT.Com and exhibiting its development for information technology companies such as Microsoft, Tata Teleservices and Nucleus Software.

The Managing Direcotr, Vascon Engineers Pvt. Ltd., R. Vasudevan, told The Hindu that lack of planning which plagued cities such as Bangalore could be prevented at least in the future.

"We have agreements with the Pune City Corporation to take up road construction in the areas developed by us and the cost could be offset against the betterment charges we have to pay to the corporation,'' he said.

Property

In fact, a number of builders developing property in a specific area had been pooling their resources to see that infrastructure came up along with the buildings that housed information technology firms or their employees, he said.

The industry's needs were fast changing and information technology firms were now interested at looking at "the total picture" and considering the needs of the persons they would employ.

"Developers need to provide residential apartment blocks with facilities such as a supermarket or a larger shopping complex, ATMs and parks. Sometimes we have to persuade a school to open a branch near by and in other cases we have to plan development in areas close to schools and shopping facilities,'' Mr. Vasudevan said.

Information technology firms were also keen on scalable property to be leased because they were likely to be constantly expanding.

Subject to some time limit, the developers reserved additional space for the same company on the premises or near by.
