Excessive attention on potholes

Amidst all the excessive attention on potholes in the city a larger problem has been lost sight of. Potholes are craters formed in otherwise motorable roads. What aboout vast stretches of roads in the city where there are no potholes but the asphalt has completely eroded making them more unusable than potholed roads? These roads need to be relaid urgently. One wonders what became of the plastic roads that the BMP went to town with a few months ago. Supposedly, roads laid with a mixture of recycled plastic and bitumen were more durable because of the water-resistant characteristic of plastic. If so, why aren't such roads being laid all across the city? However, plastic roads will not solve the problem of waterlogging unless roads and drains are designed and built to channel rain water into storm water drains.
