NICE to get 1900 acres
Bangalore, Nov 20, DHNS

A high power committee headed by Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa is learnt to have given its go ahead to hand over 1,900 acres of land to NICE for the Bidadi township under the Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor (BMIC) Project.

According to sources, a committee headed by the deputy commissioner of Bangalore Urban will fix the compensation amount.

The high-power committee, which met on Thursday, also asked the Revenue and Public Works departments to complete the survey of land required to complete the Bangalore-Mysore expressway portion between Bidadi and Mysore within six months, sources said. The meeting also decided to execute the sale deeds of the land handed over to NICE, the sources added.

Gowda’s questions

JD(S) National President and former prime minister H D Deve Gowda has questioned submissions made by the state Advocate General in the Supreme Court to allow the implementation of the Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor Project by NICE.

In a letter to Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, copies of which were released to the press, Gowda charged that the AG had gone ‘beyond his brief’ and made submissions to allow implementation of the project as per the Outer Development Plan (ODP) of 2004 approved by Bangalore Mysore Infrastructure Corridor Area Planning Authority deviating for the Framework Agreement signed in 1997.

Gowda claimed that the submission made by the AG ran contrary to affidavits of the Chief Secretary and PWD Principal Secretary.

Gowda has urged the CM to intervene and make a conscious and informed decision to implement and execute the decision as per the Frame Work Agreement
