BBMP works lead to massive traffic jam

BBMP works lead to massive traffic jam
Bangalore,Nov 2,Deccan Herald News Service:

The traffic on K H Road, which is usually slow-moving, was practically stand-still on Monday, thanks to the BBMP.

The civic agency had undertaken digging work on the road and had failed to inform the traffic police about it. The result was a massive traffic jam. Vehicles moved at a snail’s pace and the police had a tough time before restoring the traffic back normalcy.

“I was coming from J P Nagar and was stuck in the traffic jam for hours. The rush due to the All Saints’ Day also added to the problem. The police had blocked the stretch near the Hosur Road cemetery without informing the motorists about the alternate roads to be used,” said a motorist. BBMP had taken up digging work for constructing a drainage near Shantinagar bus terminal and nearly half the road had been dug up.
ACP (Traffic Central) A Nagappa rushed to the spot when the irate public flooded the police with complaints. Expressing his unhappiness over the attitude of the BBMP, he said: “They should have informed us before hand so we could have made other arrangements.”
