Overcome differences, promote tolerance: CM

Overcome differences, promote tolerance: CM
Bangalore, dhns:

Chief Minister Yeddyurappa has appealed to pro-Kannada organisations to cooperate with the government for smooth unveiling of Tamil saint poet Tiruvalluvar’s statue in Bangalore.

He called upon the organisations to take part in the event overcoming their differences.
Yeddyurappa said unveiling of Tiruvalluvar’s statue would help in improving relationship between the two states.

However, he made it clear that his government was committed to safeguard State’s interests in issues relating to language, land and water.

He said the Karnataka High Court in its ruling over the Public Interest Litigation challenging the unveiling of the statue had said none should create confusion among the public on issues of language or boundary. Everyone in the State should abide by the ruling.

He reiterated that the State would not tolerate any disturbance of peace in the city.
