Hosur Road expressway opening put off again

Hosur Road expressway opening put off again
Bangalore, DHNS:

The opening of the much delayed elevated expressway connecting Central Silk Board to Electronic City on National Highway 7 (Hosur Road) has been put off yet again.

The toll way will now be officially declared open only by September end. Project director of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) concessioned expressway, Manoj Kumar said, the Rs 776 crore project is now close to completion.

“The Attibele and Chandapura ramp flyover has delayed the opening. It is scheduled to be completed by the second week of September, after which we plan to have it opened,” he said.

Sources said, the NHAI has already communicated to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways to have it inaugurated by the end of September.

The opening of the expressway has been put off four times during the last one year, primarily due to deadlines not adhered to.

Earlier, the project went on a slow pace, as prices of steel and cement had escalated, forcing the contractors to delay work on the ambitious project.
