Meena directs officials to keep areas clean

The BBMP commissioner Bharat Lal Meena on Monday directed the Palike officials to maintain cleanliness in Shivajinagar, Russel Market and surrounding areas and ordered for medicinal spraying in the market area.



On Friday, the Commissioner visited Russel Market, Shivajinagar and surrounding areas. He reviewed the daily cleaning and garbage disposal activity by the Palike there and instructed health officials concerned to maintain cleanliness in the market area and meat selling areas.
Later, he reviewed the work of concrete retaining wall being constructed at the major canal flowing through Bamboo Bazar and Nala Road, and instructed to immediately carry out medicinal spray and fogging during evenings, as the work is in slow progress and was creating problem for the businessmen and the public too, due to accumulation of sewage water. He instructed the Deputy Commissioner (Health) to submit a report on the measures taken to maintain public health.

While reviewing the desilting work at the canal flowing through Armstrong Road, Narayana Pillai Road, Padavettaman Temple Road, Old Market Road and Gangadhara Chetty Road, he instructed to utilize more JCBs in order to speed up the work.

He directed the Water Board Executive Engineer to complete the civil works at Devaraj Mudaliar Street and Shivanna Chetty Garden.
