Malleswaram is now Kadu Malleshwara

Bangalore: After much dithering, the state government finally issued the final notification of the BBMP wards on Wednesday. But, too many procedural problems may mean that the polls may not be held before the July 31 high court deadline.
The name of BBMP’s ward 1 has been changed from Yelahanka to Kempegowda. Ward 142, earlier Kempegowda Nagar, is now Sunkenahalli. This apart, a popular ‘Malleswaram’ changed to Kadu Malleshwara ward; Puttenahalli changed to Chowdeshwari Nagar.
These are a few changes which catch the eye. However, a few areas like Gupta Layout (P) remains shared between two adjacent wards — Hombegowdanagar (145) and Lakkasandra (146).
