Finally, seamless travel on Seshadri Road

Finally, seamless travel on Seshadri Road
TIMES NEWS NETWORK

Bangalore: Now, you can zip along Seshadri Road — from Maharani’s College Junction to K R Circle and past it. The two perennially chaotic junctions have been transformed and the corridor looks akin to a freeway, complete with a rotary at K R Circle.
Chief minister B S Yeddyurappa inaugurated vehicular underpasses at the two points on Sunday morning, besides pedestrian subways. This, a day after S Subramanya, the brain behind the project, was transferred out of BBMP. The CM, however, gave Subramanya full credit.
The Rs 5.94-crore underpass with 44 precast ‘magic’ boxes in front of Maharani’s College will allow seamless travel for traffic from Mysore Bank Circle to Chalukya Junction, via Jnanajyothi Auditorium and Palace Road. Motorists on Seshadri Road can now move towards K R Circle on the surface; those plying from Palace Road to K R Circle will take the left-side road. Shortly, the Palace Road stretch from Mysore Bank Circle to Agriculture Department Junction will be made two-way.
The K R Circle underpass will handle traffic coming from Vidhana Soudha going towards Nrupathunga Road. A huge rotary will help in easy movement. The CM will inspect Metro work in a couple of days.
