MG Road stretch to regain most of its width
Police have, however, asked motorists to try avoiding Trinity Circle

A stretch MG Road — from Mayo Hall to Trinity Circle — will soon regain most of its width, consequent to the completion of the laying of elements on pillars of the Namma Metro project.
Announcing this, Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Praveen Sood said since the placing of elements on the pillars has been completed, this stretch has been rendered safe. The traffic police have asked the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited to open a wider section of the road for vehicular movement.
"This will be done in another 10 days. We have also asked BMRCL officials to relay the asphalt on this segment," he said.
Meanwhile, the traffic police have advised motorists to avoid Trinity Circle as pillars are being erected for Namma Metro at the junction. Sood, however, added that there were no plans to close down Trinity Circle completely for vehicular traffic and the advisory was issued only as a warning to avoid congestion at the circle in view of the ongoing work.
"It was decided not to close down Trinity Circle as there is already a road-block there. Only BMTC buses are allowed from Mayo Hall side towards the Old Airport. There is no bar on other vehicles, but is better that vehicles coming from MG Road towards the Old Airport Road try to avoid Trinity Circle," he said.
Vehicles moving from Cauvery Circle towards Trinity Circle have to turn right at Mayo Hall Circle to enter Commissariat Road and move towards Hosmat Circle to reach ASC Centre before proceeding towards the Old Airport Road, the advisory said.
Motorists coming from Cubbon Road have to take a right turn at Webb's junction to move towards Bangalore Central and then turn left to enter Commissariat Road, before proceeding towards Hosmat Circle and reaching Old Airport Road via India Garage and ASC centre.
Motorists coming from Old Airport Road towards Trinity Circle and proceed towards MG Road, Kensington Road and Ulsoor can stick to their routes, the advisory said.
