Road belongs to business park
Embassy Golf Links says security check done at police behest

With reference to the report “Road grab” (BM, Feb 16), Rajan Viswanath, Head of property management, Embassy Golf Links Business Park, has issued the following clarification:
“The road from the entrance of the Embassy Golf Links Business Park along the KGA Golf Course belongs to the Embassy Golf Links Business Park and was developed when the Park was constructed on the land belonging to the Park. The BWSSB service road, a section of about 30 ft in width, having its origin through the fenced area of the Golf Course, joins up with the Park’s road quite some distance from the entrance and runs along the fence. Thus the BWSSB service road does not have an exit on to the Ring Road.
“Security is a serious concern not only to the Park, but also to the adjoining Airport in particular which now caters to VVIP and Air Force operations and the police have advised stringent checks at the entrance of our Park in an area which belongs to us. While doing so, we have by no means either encroached upon or laid claims on the BWSSB service road, the rights of which are protected by law.
“It must be appreciated that BWSSB service road does not give any direct access between the Ring Road and link to the Wind Tunnel Road on the other end. The double parking is in that section of the road outside the park which falls in the BWSSB jurisdiction and is a matter which requires police intervention.
“We are given to understand that BBMP is constructing a road from the Chalaghatta Village to the Ring Road and the tender for this is under finalisation. This will be entirely public owned and should provide easy access to whosoever is the user. The permission for construction of the road has already been accorded by Defence Ministry.
“From our side, as long as the security threat perception remains and keeping with the advisory issued by the police we have no choice but to continue our vigil at the entrance point of our Park.”

So does that mean we cannot use the road from entrance to Wind Tunnel road?
