BBMP to act tough on illegal hoardings

Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has decided to not only pull down illegal hoardings and other advertisement boards but also impose heavy penalty on the violators.


On Thursday, the BBMP brought down 115 illegal hoarding and advertisement boards on Commercial Street. The BBMP is planning to impose a heavy penalty on all those who put the advertisement boards there.

“We are going to impose a fine of Rs 8,000 for each one of the illegal hoardings. We will conduct such drives in other parts of the City,” said Puttaswamy, zonal commissioner.

He said he will be launching a similar drive on Brigade Road, MG Road and Shoolay Circle. He added that he had identified all the illegal hoarding structures, which will be razed in a day or two.
