Bangalore: The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRC) Limited is clearing the decks for construction works on the second reach of Namma Metro. The corporation is set to commence work on reach 2 (Magadi Road to Mysore Road terminal) in December.
At present, the demolition of structures is already under way on the stretch between the Leprosy hospital junction and toll gate. The BMRC has also compensated 69 property owners on the reach. With the construction works expected to take off soon, the BMRC and the traffic police department are working on an alternative traffic plan. The traffic diversion plan is under finalization.
According to officials, the BMRC board has cleared the new designs for more stations in the reach: Magadi Road terminal and Deepanjalinagar. The tenders for construction of the three elevated stations in the reach — at Toll gate, Hosahalli and Vijayanagar — have already been invited.
