Traffic jam on Tumkur road

For more than five hours, the busy Tumkur-Bangalore High Way users had a harrowing time, as vehicular movement came to standstill on Tuesday afternoon.

Nelamangala police said, due to a technical snag, a huge container truck's left rear wheel gave away and as a result the entire chassis grounded in the middle of the road thus blocking the entire road.

Mishap
Accident took place around 2.15 pm near Makali bridge, Nelamangala around 23 kms from the city.

Added to it, the container’s wheel in full speed rammed into a pedestrian injuring his head. The victim has been admitted to a hospital and his condition is reported to be serious.

A vehicle with Andhra Pradesh registration was entering the city when it met with an accident. There was commotion for long, traffic was disrupted and manning the entire stretch was a daunting task.

The truck was pulled to a side with the help of cranes. The traffic eased at around 8.40 pm.
