HOSUR RD EXPRESSWAY 4 MONTHS TO GO
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is sticking to its revised targeted deadline of March 2009 for completion of the Hosur Road elevated expressway. The project was initially scheduled to have been completed in July 2008.
About 40 of the 245 spans remain to be completed. An NHAI official said they will be ready by December and it will take another three months for finishing work such as lighting and asphalting. The pedestrian underpasses at Kudlu junction and Singasandra junction have been opened to the public. The one in GB Palya is expected to open in two weeks. The Bommanahalli one will take some time.
As for the 6-laning of the 12 km stretch from Electronic City to Hosur, the NHAI official said the ground level work is done. “There are three flyovers — at the Bommansandra, Chandapura and Attibele junctions. We are confident these will also be completed by March,” he said.
