‘Consult people before taking up underpass work’

Bangalore: MLA from Chickpet constituency D. Hemachandra Sagar has urged the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike Commissioner not to go ahead with the construction of an underpass at Tagore Circle in Basavanagudi till public opinion on the need for it was gathered.

In a letter to the BBMP Commissioner, Dr. Sagar said gathering opinion of the public was necessary as the flyover constructed at National College Circle had received criticism. He expressed displeasure over non-furnishing of details sought from engineers on the proposed underpass. Dr. Sagar said BBMP was going ahead with construction of underpass only on the basis that it was cleared by the previous Government.
