BANGALORE: Over a million titles on display, more than 250 stalls, and quiz contest the “Bangalore Book Festival 2008” promises all that to attract more than two lakh people. A 10-day book festival will kick off at the city’s Palace Grounds on November 14. The sixth edition of the annual book festival is expected to generate a business of about Rs. 15 crore. Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa will inaugurate the festival.

B.S. Raghuram, programme director of the book festival, told The Hindu on Monday that besides Kannada and English, the festival would feature stalls of Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Bengali books. Kannada publishers will occupy about 40 stalls.

The Kannada Book Authority and Kendra Sahitya Academy have extended the financial support to the exhibition.
