Rain woes continue in city

BANGALORE: The wet spell continued in Bangalore on Friday too. According to the meteorological department, the city received 14.8 mm rainfall while the HAL airport area received about 20 mm rainfall.

Complaints of water-logged roads, tree-fall, blocked manholes and traffic snarls were reported from various parts of the city, though no major incidents, BBMP control room sources said. Cases of tree-fall and blocked manholes were reported from Shankarnagar in Nandini Layout.

Incomplete works of BWSSB resulted in messy roads and traffic jams in Chamarajpet police station limits. Koramangala and Girinagar are said to have had problems of streetlights going off.Traffic was held up for about two hours on Bannerghatta Road from 3.30 pm, due to water-logging. School children were stranded at bus stops.
