Heavy showers disrupt traffic

BANGALORE: Rain caused inconvenience to commuters in different parts of the city on Thursday evening. Marthahalli, Dom-lur,Ulsoor,Shivaji Nagar and Commercial Street,Cunning-ham Road,JC Road and other areas received rainfall of around 2 cm.In Old Airport area,rain-fall was higher at 4 cm.At least five incidents of tree falling were reported.In Commercial Street area,one vehicle was damaged when a tree fell on it.Ulsoor Road,Kaggadasapura Road,CV Ra-man Road and Rajaji NagarRoad were other areas that reported tree falls.As vehicular movement was less due to the festival,there were no traffic jams.“Rains,accompanied by thundershowers,are expect-ed to continue till the third week of October,”Muthuswamy,Director,Meteorological Department,said.
