NICE told to furnish details

NICE told to furnish details
DH News Service, Bangalore:

Furnish all technical details and take land -- seems to be the State Government’s stand on the controversial Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor (BMIC) project.

The new BJP Government, which has decided to abide by the Supreme Court order on the project, has sought technical details on the proposed peripheral road from Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprise (NICE), the promoter of Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor (BMIC).

The NICE has first taken up peripheral road component of the mega project, which is incomplete and has not made much progress due to legal dispute.

The Public Works Department in a letter dated July 17, has asked NICE, to furnish details including survey numbers.

Public Works Department officials will also meet with NICE representatives on July 21, official sources said.
They further added that unless NICE provides technical details, it is difficult to locate and hand over the land.
“It is part of the Government procedure. Once the land is identified on the ground, Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB) will be asked to acquire and hand it over to NICE,” officials explained.

NICE has proposed to build peripheral road comprising the 41-km southern connecting Tumkur Road and Hosur Road, the nine-kilometre link road from Bangalore-Mysore Expressway to Mysore Road and the elevated three-kilometre expressway from link road to downtown Bangalore.
