KIADB issued notification for taking over property, says petitioner

BANGALORE: The Karnataka High Court on Friday ordered issue of notices to the State Government and the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRC) on a petition by a resident of Gayatrinagar.

The petitioner, Shivaramu, said that the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) had issued a notification for taking over his property in Gayatrinagar for the Bangalore Metro project. He challenged the notification and urged the court to quash it.

Justice Huluvadi G. Ramesh ordered issue of notices to the State, the KIADB and the Bangalore Metro and adjourned further hearing on the case.
Adjourned

A Division Bench comprising Justice K. Sreedhar Rao and Justice Satyanarayana on Friday adjourned further hearing on a contempt case filed by Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprise (NICE) against the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board.

NICE said that a single judge had allowed its petition and directed the BWSSB to temporarily shift some water lines in Bangalore so that it could go ahead with the Bangalore-Mysore Expressway project. NICE had filed a contempt petition when BWSSB did not follow the orders of the single judge. The Bench adjourned further hearing on the case.
Challenged

Justice Huluvadi G. Ramesh on Friday adjourned further hearing on a petition by Sanamma and others of Srirangapatna taluk challenging acquisition of their lands for the Bangalore-Mysore Expressway Project.
