May 24 was original date: AAI

The decision to postpone the commercial operations launch of Bengaluru International Airport (BIA) by 24 hours has not come as a surprise for the Airports Authority of India (AAI).

Senior AAI officials told Deccan Herald the first communication received by them on the opening of BIA after the renegotiation talks on May 13 was it was to begin commercial operations from May 24.

However, the Ministry announced May 23 as the date of commissioning.
