BANGALORE: Bangalore, compared to other cities of Karnataka is currently receiving excess rainfall since a week with a maximum of 18 mm in the City, 58.9 mm at the airport and 114 mm at Yelahanka, as recorded on March 27, up to 8.30 am.
A cloud burst was recorded in Yelahanaka on Wednesday which lead to very heavy rainfall of 114 mm.
The average rainfall for March hovers around 1-2 mm and presently Bangalore and surrounding areas experience 25 per cent more rainfall, said Meteorological Centre, Bangalore Directorin- charge B Puttanna.
“ Last week, the City received 15-16 cm of rainfall and it is a good sign. Temperatures however remain normal,” he added. He said that the cyclonic effect had dried down within four days of its occurrence.
Forecast for the forthcoming days states that thunder showers and rain are likely during evening and night with a maximum temperature of 30 degress Celsius and a minimum of 20 degree Celsius.
