HC admits PIL for more auto permits

The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday admitted a PIL seeking a direction to the State government to hike the maximum limit fixed for the number of autorickshaw permits in the City.


Petitioners - Syed Samiulla of K G Halli and nine others - said the Regional Transport Authority is not issuing fresh permits owing to a 1999 government notification which has fixed 70,000 as the maximum number of permits for the City, they said.
