Bangalore: Lalbagh Botanical Gardens is all set to experiment with something new again. This time, it will create a shelter for pigeons, with the horticulture department setting up a Pigeon Park in an area spread across 2,500 sq ft. This Rs 22-lakh project will provide enough space for pigeons with facilities for nesting, drinking water and pigeon holes being planned accordingly to make the winged creatures feel at home.
The park will be decorated well to attract visitors, who will also be allowed to feed the birds. The park, which is already under construction has seen 60% of the work completed and will be open to the public by the end of December, said Lalbagh deputy director, Jagadish. He also said the birds will first be kept in triangular nests, to help them get accustomed to their new surroundings.
