The delegation led by N Reguraj, chairman, CII, Karnataka, said that if the issue was not resolved it would create enormous stress on all air passengers - business, personal and budget when the airport starts flight operations on March 30, 2008.

The poor road connectivity to the upcoming Bangalore International Airport is again under fire and seems to be one of the biggest challenges before the new government.
A Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) delegation which called on Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa on Tuesday expressed serious concern over the poor connectivity to the airport in Devanahalli from the city and urged him to address this issue immediately.
The delegation led by N Reguraj, chairman, CII, Karnataka, said that if the issue was not resolved it would create enormous stress on all air passengers - business, personal and budget when the airport starts flight operations on March 30, 2008.
Infrastructure
The delegation suggested the government to take a ‘mission-mode approach’ on two fronts which include upgrading the existing infrastructure like Rail Over Bridges (ROBs), Grade Separators, road widening, resurfacing and also building new infrastructure facilities like Metro link and expressway in a time-bound manner.
The delegation also recommended the setting up of a joint committee, in which industry, urban planning experts and others be given a role in ensuring that these projects are taken up and implemented with urgency.
CII also offered to work closely with various government departments to resolve issues on infrastructure, connectivity and also to extend its support in implementing the State Industrial Policy and all other efforts to attract more global industries into the State.
The chief minister assured support of the government in implementing these projects.
