BANGALORE: The five proposed layouts envisioned in the BDA Master plan—2015 are expected to offer budget houses and sites of all dimensions to varied strata of society.

Earlier the BDA had decided not to allocate sites of 20X30 dimension. But these proposed five layouts: Dr K Shivarama Karanth Layout between Doddaballapur Road and Hesaraghatta Road, Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Layout between Magadi Road and Mysore Road, Sri D Devaraj Urs Layout between Airport Road and Varthur village, Sri Kyasambahalli Changala-raya Reddy Layout between Hosur Road and Sarjapura Road and Sri S Nijalingappa Layout between Varthur Village and Sarjapura Road will offer sites to the economically weaker sections.

The layouts are planned on revenue and farm land. Forty-five per cent of each acre will be utilised to provide infrastructure facilities and 55 per cent for residential and commercial purposes. Out of this 55 per cent, 40 per cent will be given back to land owners. No monetary compensation will be given on land acquisition.

The development agency is merely developing these areas for the welfare of citizens, BDA Commissioner M K Shankarlinge Gowda told this website’s News Paper.

These layouts have just been proposed and published by BDA, reports are yet to be submitted to the government for approval.

“ If the government does not approve the proposal, the BDA has vast vistas of land which it could consider,” he said. Sites in these layouts will be of 20X30, 30X40, 40X60 and 50X80 dimensions, where Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) houses, row-houses and sites will be allocated.

Another highlight of these layouts is the dual water connections offered to residents.

This "5 New Layouts" drama has been going-on since August 2007. Yet there is no sign of the Government approving the plan. There is no lands in the area identified.Large players have already done the needful and started off their projects. It is only the poor people who are made to suffer by this entire drama.the BDA officials are harassing the poor farmers and collecting huge sums of money to convert their lands while the influential have already converted their lands and done everthing to guarantee that their lands will not be acquired by the BDA.

This plan should be dropped immediately and the BDA should concentrate on doing something with the lands that they have already notified earlier instead of harassing the poor people with this 5 New Layout Monster.

If the proposal has not been Approved by the Government, The BDA should ditch the proposal and stop harassing the people instead of keeping the proposal, open indefinitely.
