Four groups of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the twin blasts that claimed 45 lives here on August 25, on Sunday left for Bangalore to trace the absconding Bangladeshi national Ridwan Gazi, suspected to be involved in the explosions.
Police sources said the SIT teams left for Bangalore based on the information provided by Gazi’s sister Shafirafsanjani, who was arrested on Saturday.
The teams would also work with the Bangalore police to trace Gazi, whose face closely resembles the sketch of the suspected bomber released by the investigation team in connection with the blasts case. Gazi and his sister were living in the city without a passport. Both had also obtained a driving licence, ration card and a PAN card through fake documents. The SIT has also taken into custody two Pakistani and two Bangladeshi nationals, who were lodged in the city without passports.
