Parking: BBMP to fine violators

BANGALORE: The Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) will impose fine ranging between Rs. 500 and Rs. 5,000 on those who park vehicles recklessly in the city causing traffic chaos and resulting in damage to public places.

A release said that BBMP Commissioner K. Jairaj had directed the imposition of fine on those who parked vehicles on footpaths and no-parking zones on roads that have been developed by BBMP under various projects.

A fine of Rs. 500 on two-wheeler owners and Rs. 5,000 on four-wheeler owners would be imposed if parking norms were violated.
