Meeting on BMRC compensation
Bangalore, dhns:
Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRC) will soon organise a meeting of those who lose their land to make way for the metro rail project and apprise them about the compensation package announced on Tuesday.

Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRC) will soon organise a meeting of those who lose their land to make way for the metro rail project and apprise them about the compensation package announced on Tuesday.
The plan is to organise two meetings — one for those coming under package one of the project and another for rest of other packages. The first meeting ,in all probability will be organised in the beginning of next week, BMRC officials said.
Of 118 private properties to be acquired under the package one (between Chinnaswamy stadium and Byappanahalli) for the project, final notification has been issued with respect to 64 properties. With the announcement of compensation package, the government will now start issuing the final notification to remaining all properties, officials said.
Meanwhile, CMH Road Traders’ Association has said that it will not accept the compensation package and that it will fight against the project in the court.
“It is very unfortunate that BMRC went ahead announcing the package despite a case pending in the high court,” the Association President Imtiaz Ahmed stated.
The Association is demanding BMRC to change the alignment of the project and take it along Old Madras Road instead of CMH road.
