10 roads to be upgraded

10 important roads that BBMP has taken up a project to upgrade will be of international standard with a lane system, bus bays, shoulder drains and pavements.

The BBMP has taken up a project to upgrade 10 important roads and they will soon be thrown open for traffic.
Taken up under the World Bank-funded Karnataka Municipal Reforms Scheme, these are arterial and sub-arterial roads that connect either State or national highways. These roads will be of international standard with a lane system, bus bays, shoulder drains and pavements, a release said.

The total length of these roads is 130 km and the project will be completed by this year-end.

Works done
Roads which have already been upgraded are: Koramangala 80-Feet Road, Kammanahalli Road, N R Chowka Road, Bannerghatta Road, St.Mark’s Road, Kasturba Road and Raj Bhavan Road.
