Project update: BMIC - Project landlocked!

Project landlocked!

The state government’s refusal to grant land to Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises (NICE) has virtually halted the company
from further developing the Bangalore Mysore Infrastructure Corridor (BMIC) project.
Besides Gottigere tank issue, work has stopped at two vital locations on link road as the government has declined to hand over land for further development. Despite these major hurdles, the project is progressing on one front: the peripheral road is almost completed.
Minor issues include — no land available for the exit/entry ramps on all interchanges (except Hosur Road interchange). No land has been given to continue the expressway. And more land has not been given for the township.
“Ever since the notification on construction of BMIC Road has been issued nine years ago, farmers in these areas are in a fix as they can neither sell their land nor can develop it. Our Rs 30 crore is held up with the KIADB. Neither NICE nor farmers have benefited by this attitude.’’

The NICE peripheral ring road is almost complete and it would help commuters travelling from Electronic city towards JP Nagar, Mysore Road, Vijay Nagr etc by bypassing Hosur Road and BTM layout. It is very irresponsible and revengeful attitude on the part of government in not allowing the road to be completed by putting road blocks on NICE. People should strongly protest this partisan and revengeful and anti puble attitude of the government.
